The black and gold version was the youngest of the numbered
variations of the Persian Rose/Tudor Rose series. The contrast of
minimal black and gold against the snow glaze was an inspired design
development by Charlotte. Examples are difficult to find and are usually
keenly sought by collectors.
Apart from a couple of examples with the simple AGR8 MADE IN ENGLAND mark, all other examples seen have the AGR2 style backstamp which suggests that production of this design ceased around 1939.
